about

The decision to record again as a band came after finishing our tribute to our friend Bugs Salcido who passed away. We were having a Facebook chat amongst the four of us after posting the tribute online. Brennan asked us all “What’s Next?” and explained how that process of recording the tribute was the most fun musically he had in years. We decided that recording a new single would be a way of testing the waters mostly for ourselves as a way to see if the creative process could still work among the four members but also for the sheer joy of making music together again. Brennan sent us demos of songs he had recorded. I zeroed in on "Take A Step" as a strong contender and everyone signed on to do it. When we were together in the early nineties Pro Tools and the internet did not exist. We took full advantage of both for the recording of “Take A Step”. With Brennan in Southern California and the rest of us in the Bay Area. We ended up sending audio files back and forth and eventually I got together with Max and Lori to record the drums at a local church with these incredible acoustics that help give “Take A Step” such a powerful sound. I have to credit Bugs with bringing us together again. In death he was responsible for this happening. It's been 22 years since we have done anything new and I really think if you liked us before then you will enjoy this.

For the "audio aware" crowd, The FLAC and ALAC files are the full 44.1/ 24 bit files that we captured, mixed and mastered.

For the non audio aware crowd, I suggest downloading the ALAC (Apple Lossless Audio Codec) files. They work with iTunes since it's an Apple format and they sound better than the version on iTunes.
